A friend of the opposite sex (often a stripper or lion tamer but not a prerequisite) who is quite expensive to get to know. Not to be confused at all with a platonic friend, who is a friend of the opposite sex with no attractions to one another.
At present there is only one documented case of a plotnic friendship. More research needs to be done to give examples.
