Play it by ear, to wing it, improvise, see how it goes. Used when someone doesn't want to commit to plans, but rather to leave things open ended.

An acronym, short for Play It By Ear. Coined by a very chill California resident, the term is often used by those who are non-committal by nature, by those who want to "play it by ear" but who also don't want to sound like their mothers who use the full phrase. To say you will PIBE attending an event sounds cooler than to say you "will play it by ear." It also sounds less annoying to the person who is inviting the PIBE-r.
"Do you want to come over for dinner Sunday night?" "Yes, but I have to PIBE" ... "Are you going to all three Phish shows?" "I'm gonna PIBE"
