Great fucken' city on the east coast. Pricey as hell(that comparison makes no sense I know), but well worth it. Home to many great bands, shows, events and anything you can think of. Also has some of the highest quality men. Speciifically in Greenwich and East Village.

The largest city in the United States as well as the financial capital of the world (followed by Tokyo), famous for its vast skyline. Downtown Manhattan contains more infastructure and office space per square foot of land than anywhere else. With a population of over 8 million, New York City is one of the most diverse cities worldwide, with people representing nearly every existant race, religion, sexual orientation, political party, and nationality at any given moment. New York's high-culture environment and unique diversity contribute to New York's cosmopolitan atmosphere and may account for New York having the lowest crime rate among the largest 25 cities in the United States. The New York city Urban Area (including parts of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut is the world's largest, consisting of over 22 million people. New York continues to amaze inspire artists, students, immigrants, patriots, and tourists. If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.
I'm going into New York City to view an exhibition at the Museum of National History, seeing a Broadway play, and going clubbing afterwards.

The largest and most diverse city in America. With a population over 8 million, and a reputation for blunt honesty, graft and aggression, New York City is actually one of America's friendliest places, with a proud citizen base committed to cooperation. An excellent example is September 11th, 2001, when New Yorkers of all backgrounds automatically pulled together to rescue the injured, rebuild infrastructure, and provide America backbone to withstand the event.

New York City is the most talked-about, thought-about, and most-written and sung about city in the world. New songs, movies, television programs and plays are created about it daily. Moving to, surviving, then living well in New York City is nearly universally seen as "having arrived".

New Yorkers are brash, impulsive, good-natured and approachable. They like meeting people and are not shy about making new friends. Friendships can be struck up in public (i.e. on line for a bus, or at a bank) when two or more unrelated New Yorkers notice something unusual and make a (usually sarcastic) comment to one another.

New York City: Frank Sinatra with a skyline.
Person 1: New York, New York
A hell of a town
The Bronx is up and the Battery's down
The people ride in a hole in the ground
New York, New York...
It's a hell of a town!

Person 2: The example should include the words "New York City". You forgot "city".

Person 1: Lenny didn't use city in that song.

Person 2: Yeah, but he didn't write the lyrics either.

Person 1: Stop arguing with me on the train, you must be from New York City or something.
