Nate Ruess is the lead singer of the indie rock band fun. He is most known for his vocals in the popular songs "We are young." (awarded a grammy for song of the year), "Some Nights", and "Carry On". He was also featured in P!nk's song "Just Give Me a Reason." In 1986, his family moved to a farm in Glendale, Arizona, due to repeated bouts of pneumonia Ruess faced as a child. This is alluded to in Fun's song "The Gambler" from their debut album, Aim and Ignite. Ruess remained in Arizona throughout his childhood. In 2001-2008 Ruess was in a band known as The Format. The band broke up and Ruess started the band fun. with Andrew Dost and Jack Antonoff. The band now has two albums "Aim and Ignite" and "Some Nights." and in addition, an album that iTunes helped make called "Fun.- iTunes session" which consists of acoustic versions of some of their songs. Ruess has a voice that has been compared to Queen's Freddy Mercury. Nate is known to be quirky, energetic, and easily distracted in his concerts.

Katy Perry: And the Grammy goes to, fun.
Nate Ruess: Um, alright. I didn't think we were gonna win this one, I'm gonna be honest. I GOT TO PEE SO BAD so I'm gonna leave this up to one of these guys who are just the most amazing band mates that anybody could ever have.

only Nate would announce that he has to pee when receiving a Grammy or an award of any kind
