A lite version of code-switching that takes place within the same language, but changes the tone of one's inner dialogue or speaking or writing style to temporarily correlate with environmental factors such as the voice of narration in a book, watching television shows in a slightly different dialect, or being in a different setting which changes the grade level of word choice such as attending college or joining the Marines.
