A fictitious condition in which one lacks the company of a mans sexual organ for an extended period of time. In this instance that person may experience an increase in heat flashes, flirting, fantasies, masturbation, viewing of porn, or the use of electronic toys in order to curb their appetite for the male organ until a suitable partner is found.

Taken from the term “second string” in an athletic competition situation. In football, if the star quarterback gets injured during a play, the second string is called off the bench to replace him/her. A “Second String Friend” is essentially benched until needed, if ever.
