1). To take and/or claim ownership of someone else’s belongings, which have been temporarily left unattended.
2). To aimlessly roam around on the hunt for practically anything one finds useful in boxe’s that say “free”, random curbed trash, or anything that no one is there at that moment telling you ‘not to take it’. A good knerp can always be justified with some sort of BS excuse as to why you have it.

1). “I ran to the bathroom for two minutes, left my stuff outside because I thought it was safe. Came back and somebody knerp’ed it all”.
