The Kingdom of Loathing is a text-based MMORPG. The game is based on comical parodies of modern sayings, stylings, culture, and other things. For instance, the game has items like "pr0n chow mein" and "Phonics Down", drinks like "white canadian", and familiars (A type of pet creature) like the "cocoabo". The game uses a currency, the currency being "meat". Several different activities can be played, such as adventuring, mixing cocktails, combining items, meatsmithing, and such.

The game is based around 3 main stats, Muscle, Mysticality, and Moxie. In comparison to game attributes, these three stats are relative to combat, magic, and stealth. Each stat has two classes of each. The "Seal Clubber" and "Turtle Tamer" are the Muscle classes, the "Sauceror" and "Pastamancer" are the Mysticality classes, and the "Disco Bandit" and "Accordian Thief" are the Moxie classes.

Adventures are essentially the limit to the amount of quests you can perform per day. Adventures are gained daily, through eating of foods, and drinking of booze. In addition to the limit of adventures per day, one can reach a limit to food eaten (Virtually "full") and a limit to drinking booze (Where you are "falling-down drunk".

The Kingdom of Loathing is a long time running game, at *about* one and a half years (as of February). The creator is Jick. Jick is one of two administrators for the game, the other being Mr. Skullhead.

The game also has an extensive network of forums and chat rooms. The chat rooms include channels newbie, normal, trade, games, lounge, and villa. All of the channels have moderators. Moderators include Inari, Lacey, Werebear, Vida Londres, Bragi, Elven_Princess, Idiania, Bete Noire, Vultar, Fruity Vuish, Mystical, Arbitrage, Bellytor, Trog Dor, BioHazardMan, TheGreatYak, and NovusOrdoSeclorum.

An awesome book series by Ridley Pearson. It is about a group of kids from five different schools (which actually exist) that get sent to Disney World (in Orlando) to be subjects for a DHI, Daylight Hologram Imaging / Disney Host Interactive project. This allows tourists to ask questions to projected hologram guides all over the parks. However, something went wrong when they compiled their data. When they fall asleep at night, they wake up as their hologram selves in the park. This may sound fun, but it turns out the Disney villains are real! It would be cool if one of them "went" to Dr. Phillips High School, the one adjacent to Universal Studios. But no, it's a DISNEY book... not a UNIVERSAL one.
Hey man! I wonder if they really are going to put DHIs in Disney just like they did in the Kingdom Keepers!.

An RPG produced in 2002 by Square-Enix and Disney. Featuring character designs by Tetsuya Nomura, well known for Final Fantasy VII, VIII and X, as well as Parasite Eve 1 & 2, the game follows Sora, a 14-year-old boy on a quest to reunite with his friends Kairi and Riku. Along the way, he teams up with various Disney characters including Donald Duck, Goofy, Tarzan, Aladdin, Ariel, Jack Skellington and others as he battles the Heartless that threaten to destroy all worlds.

While the gameplay was above-average and the re-playability good, many "hardcore" fans don't consider this game up to Square's standards. Tougher-than-thou fans point out the child-like simplicity of a boy defeating the darkness in people's hearts as being too kiddish, as well as making fun of the inclusion of Disney characters, because as we all know, Disney = TEH EVAL!!!1

If people took the time to play the game without inhibitions and enjoy it for what it is -- Not Final Fantasy -- they might find that they would enjoy the game far more than they think.

The game features various Square cameos as well as Disney, including Cloud (FFVII), Aerith (FFVII), Yuffie (FFVII), Sephiroth (FFVII), Squall/Leon (FFVIII), Selphie (FFVIII), Tidus (FFX), and Wakka (FFX).

The original PS2 Kingdom Hearts spawned an array of related media, including a PS2 sequel (due the fall of 2005), a sequel for the GBA entitled Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, and a manga series. Who knows what the future will hold for this extremely popular franchise?
Julie is saving up for KH2 this fall.
