Jill Valentine first appears as one of two playable protagonists in the original Resident Evil. Along with Chris Redfield, she is a member of S.T.A.R.S' Alpha Team, deployed into the Arklay Mountains to search for her missing compatriots. Jill encounters Nemesis, a super soldier created by the Umbrella Corporation.
