A Jaybee is a man that is innately an alpha male, but would prefer to take a beta role when the occasion suits him. He has a malleable fashion sense. Many men find Jaybee fashion appealing, but few are confident enough to dress Jaybee. Though Jaybees will occasionally display effeminate affectations, they are heterosexual men who are pleased if both men and woman find them attractive.
The role required the actor to adopt a Jaybee persona; The single women at the club were thrilled when they learned the handsome man on the dance floor was in fact a Jaybee; The elder associate decided to play it Jaybee when he saw many of the young upstarts join the committee.
