Inlander means native in dutch, this word was a slur used by the racist Dutchmen/women when referring to the native Indonesians during the Dutch colonisation of the Dutch Indies (Present day Indonesia), although it was a racial slur in the past, it's used as a joke nowadays in Indonesia and thus born the word Inlander Mentality.

Inlander Mentality refers to the mentality of some Indonesians who consider the white western people to be superior to them because of past colonisation era where natives were the lowest castes of people behind the colonists, chinese, arabs, and indians. These people forget that the colonial era was over decades ago, yet they keep thinking that any white people are their colonial master, hence they keep licking their feet and they feel proud if they marry a white western people no matter if they're dirt poor and chronic alcoholics in their home countries (for some reason, Indonesian women are a majority who are proud of marrying a white western man), but somehow they will still keep licking their spouses' ass even when they're physically abused because they think they deserve it for being born as a native. Some people defined this mentality as the equivalent of slave mentality.

A few weeks ago, no one had “cheugy” in their vocabulary . Now everything is saturated with the word. It’s in our heads. It’s in our homes. Everyone is asking: “Am I cheugy? Am I a basic ass bitch? Am I GUILTY of being cheugy?”

The proliferation of cheugy in the mainstream discourse can only be attributed to one source: mental terror. It’s an orchestrated psychological trap to make you question your tastes and interests in the eyes of others.
