An IED Finder is an 88M in the US Army. An 88M is the MOS 'Motor Transport Operator'. The IED Finder is a glorified truck driver in the US Army. Their name is derived from the fact that they are often blown up by IEDs in the war against terror. As such they receive a large enlistment bonus and are spoiled in their AIT resulting in lack of discipline. The IED Finder also tends to be the MOS that recruiters push people with low ASVAB scores or a GED towards.
