Unlike North Huntington, South Huntington or Huntington Station is considered one of the few "hoods" on long island due its reputation as the murder capital of long island. Usually those that live in Huntington Station attend Walt Whitman High School unless you are one of the few rich people and have been sent to St. Anthony's also located in Huntington Station.

Unlike the other poster who includes SOUTH HUNTINGTON in his description of Huntington Station ghetto, i as a resident know that HUNTINGTON STATION IS THE GHETTO HOODRAT area. South huntington is nowhere near what the station is and is comprised of mostly white upper middle class to upper class people.And yes, most of us go to St.Anthony's or prep school to avoid that filth of a school whitman...

It’s lowkey “hood” because of the gangs and stabbings 😭 We mostly go to Finley which is wayyy better then south Huntington their really trash at sports and Huntington station we don’t include them gringos from Huntington bay or Halesite they mad white 💀😭 and yeah it’s lowkey ghetto but aii least we not boring 😭

South Huntington and Huntington station are very different , Huntington station is the ghetto part w lots of gangs , mainly a gang called Station or oss standing for old station soldier , many other refer to it as LBG a gang started on most likely the worst area of Huntington called lownes ave , MS is highly open by areas such as manor . South side of Huntington is much better but still gangs from there such as south side possy, more gangs include almighty a mostly teenage gang . This area of Long Island can be very dangerous if your at the wrong place wrong time . Gun violence is rare it’s mostly knives and fighting out there , greenlawn a very hot area resides the biggest gangstas in Huntington I advise you not to live here unless you are fit for the lifestyle .
