A very universal word which can be used in just about every situation imaginable.

To see a group of friends from a distance in a public setting and in an attempt to gain their attention, one should scream HAMUS ! at a high volume.

Hamu is a New Zealand word usually used to describe hori maoris trying to get, food, money, shoes ect. The best way to avoid a hamu is not going to school canteens, warehouse, countdown ect, hamus can be found everywhere around New Zealand.
