Gunouement - The big shoot-out at the end of western movies that brings about the death of the bad guy(s) and puts the world back into a better place. The hero gets his girl and there is once again peace in the valley.
A cousin to 'denouement', which comes at the end of a book or story in which the plot is fulfilled with all its threads sewn together for the end of the tale.
