A Green Dayis a day spent smoking pot, many people do not know this but the name of the band also came from sesame street, in one episode Oscar the Grouch says "Im having a green day", meant to mean blue, or sad Day, Oscar used to be on the back of original copies of Dookie, but was removed when Green Day was threatened to be sued by Sesame Street. The Best fucking band ever...they are a punk band that has been around for 17 years, Lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, drummer, Tre Cool, whos real name is Frank Edwin Wright III, and bassist, Mike Dirnt, whos real name is Michael Pritchard, got the name Dirnt because Billie Joe thought that it sounded like a bass (Tre's name means very cool in french)They are a band that was formed in the bay area of California, they have 8 albums, 9 including Bullet in a Bible, their huge album from 1994 was called Dookie, it sold 8 million copies which was their biggest album until their most recent album, American Idiot came out (10 million copies were sold)...many think that this is their best album, but most of Green Day's old fans feel that it is their worst...those who ONLY like American Idiot are POSERS...i hate posers!!!!! Green Day are not sell outs, many feel that sinse they sold themselves to Reprise Records(a major label) and gave up on Lookout records after kerplunk was released, they are therefore sellouts,(or not punk) they are not sellouts, infact this was the most punk thing that they could do...yes, Green day are infact a punk band, no matter how popular they may be...they are all unveleivably talented musicians, Billie Joe plays 9 instruments, Mike-3, Tre-3...Billie has been Married to Adrienne Nesser for many happy years and says that she is the only woman he will ever love, they are good, happy, and funny people, they are not loners, they are not posers, they are not goths, they are not gay, and they are not pop...some of their influences are The Ramones, The Who, the dead kennedys and the misfits, they are an amazing punk band!
