"Gay paper." Queer-community-insider term for the paper produced created when a member of the queer community (aka a gay person) takes advantage of the open-ended nature of academic assignments and writes a paper about - guess what - something gay. This can be a paper examining a character's homosexual inclinations, the author's secret gay agenda, or the fluid nature of sexuality and gender as given in the novel.
