In the TCG community , a Garnet refers to s an unplayable card that's in your hand. The term comes from the Yugioh! card "Gem-Knight Garnet" which was played so often with another card called "Brillant Fusion' that opening it was nothing short of a brick.

Garnet is the current leader of the Crystal Gems, a group that rebelled against Homeworld and the Diamonds. Garnet is a fusion of two gems: A ruby and a sapphire.
