U know...they're good people that you can count on to bring you down again sometime in the near future.The friend you may or may not have cornered about their quicksand like ways and keep around because "its in the past"...and so was one minute ago. The person that will continue to bring you down until you demand better for yourself.
When you ask yourself is that person my friend or enemy...they are your frenemy. Straighten em out or leave them.Don't put up with it.

1) when socializing frenemy eagerly waits for you to say something that he can exploit to his own advantage to make him look smarter and you look dumber, weaker and inferior.

2) Frenemy takes, he doesn't give, if you show up at the pizza parlor and you're hanging out with some friends, all of a sudden you realize, whoops you don't have any dough, so you ask your friend who already has pizza and soda if you can borrow some money for pizza. No is the answer, followed by a joke at your expense. All your other "friends" laugh As you roam around like a jackass watching everyone else eat pizza.

4) competes with you in an unfriendly type of way. Has to one up you if you accomplish something or scoffs and says anyone can do that

5) he talks shit behind your back
6) Acts differently when in groups than with just you
7) Steals shit from your house, car... Borrows things never returns them. Has no respect for anything that is yours because frenemy has no respect for you.

8) Still acts open with you after all this when you encounter him, because he's having too much fun stealing and sabotaging things in your life.
9) I could probably get that girl, but you probably never could because...type of bs
10) Mimics your expressions with offensive exaggeration, like your laugh or things you say to make you feel worse about yourself

A person (or entity) that will utilize you (your skill sets and possibly networked financial structure, too). This person may or may not be a sociopath (i.e.: may think that they really are the greatest, and thus will not recognize that they are in the wrong and not treating you the way you deserve to be treated). This person may also have extreme jealousy- wanting what you have, or trying to replicate what you are- in their mirrored image. This person may have very low self-esteem (thus they are consistently badmouthing or excluding others- in fear of their own social clout being shaken, and their own reputation being shifted). This person will make money off of you- through your network. This person will demoralize you- to make themselves feel better. This person will critique your decisions and lifestyle- to reaffirm that their existence is status quo. This person will ask you to stop speaking with other people, in fear that they will be found out. This person will tell you not to work with other people- because they have screwed up, and they do not want the truth to be known. This person is doing whatever it takes to get ahead in their own world.
