On dating and hookup apps, flagging proves you are your profile picture. If someone wants you to 'flag,' they tell you to write something totally random on a piece of paper. You write it down and then take a selfie while holding the piece of paper (include your face/body/whatever is visible in the profile pic). If profile and 'flag' pic match, you get to proceed to shenanigans. If they do not match, then you're a fake and should really find another hobby.
