One of the best games of 2008 (in my personal opinion). It is somewhat of resemblance to oblivion, I say this because of the go anywhere do anything and fuck up everyones life feeling to it. The game is made by Bethesda and isn't quite like the original fallouts. Even though it takes place in a post apocalyptic Washington DC it's combat system is not like fallout 1 and 2. In my personal opinion this is one of the greatest games made in 2008, but thats just me. And people, if you say its not like oblivion then your not into either, because it is, in the sense of going out into the world and doing things, but unlike oblivion it doesnt have a lot of quests to do.
Fallout 3 is a great game all around, even if there are a few glitchs threw out a massive wasteland its still great. A need for all gamers

Fallout 3 is a post-apocalyptic firs, or third person shooter, pretty much in the shadow of Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion.
Fallout 3 has the "go anywhere do anything" attitude where you can actually "go anywhere" and "do anything".

One of the best RPGs ever made. one numerous game of the year awards and is still played today by millions despite being 3 years old. Better Than elder scrolls 4:oblivion

Despite what some people may say, Fallout 3 is NOT a reskin of Oblivion. It was made by the same company and uses the same engine but Fallout 3 is much different.
It is different in that the gameplay is much different, it is a shooter mixed with an RPG. The setting is much different; Fallout 3 has a bleak science and political fiction setting while Oblivion has a Roman-era/medieval fantasy setting.
The gameplay of Fallout 3 is also more challenging, the AI is surprisingly smart and the good guy/bad guy or karma system is far more sophisticated.
And unlike in Oblivion, Fallout uses the V.A.T.S targeting system, which aids you in gun fights and unarmed and melee weapon CQCs.
