A common, informal phrase used typically in australia, typically means someone who is lazy, selfish, or rude and even cowardly. It can also be used as a word describing someone who ditches their mates unexpectedly.

John: Is jeff coming to the gatho tonight?
Bob: nah he dogged it for his girlfriend.
John: now that's a dog move!
