Derived from the Tagalog word (Dilaw) for the colour yellow, represents the colour of Aquino family of politicians. It is used as a derogatory term, usually by fanatical supporters of the Duterte administration, originally against supporters of the Aquino family and the Liberal Party of the Philippines but has slowly become a catch-all term towards critics of the Duterte administration and its allies, no matter the political affiliation of the critic or the validity of their criticism.

Get the Dilawan mug.
A term used by vehement Marcos supporters to refer to ultra-supporters of the Philippine political party known as the Liberal Party. It originates from the party's flagship colour being yellow, which in Filipino is "dilaw". Often it will be seen used as an accusatory label when someone speaks negatively of the Marcoses.

People and groups associated with the term include the Aquino family (of whom two became president and one died by an assassination ordered by Ferdinand Marcos Sr.), human rights lawyers, ABS-CBN, and anyone critical of the Marcos family for any reason (no, this is not an overstatement).
Person A: Diba nga madaming namatay noong Martial Law pa tayo? Ang daming na-rape, na-torture, nawala-
Person B: Ayan ang sinasabi ng mga dilawan, brainwashed ka ba? NPA ka no??

A political color and a movement in the Philippines pioneered by Sen. Ninoy Aquino signifying Freedom, Justice, and Solidarity. Seeking to address major problems of poverty, inequality, and social exclusion. It has advocated for the welfare of workers and consumers and against anti-poor economic policies as well as regressive tax laws. It continues to fight to defend democracy and the rule of law.

It has been harnessing a massive volunteering base, to ostensibly build on "the promise of becoming a true people’s party". A general, liberal democratic public and key sectors of society; organized and mobilized citizens at the grassroots for local economic development and social progress, and declared policies geared toward inclusiveness and people empowerment.
I am a proud DILAWAN, fighting for the truth, our people, and our Country's sake.
