A play on the design style "Art Deco", Pop Deco is a genre of mainstream, popular music that is heavily inspired by popular music of the 1920-30s rather than Rock n Roll or Blues like most other popular music.
The band Idle Words were first to coin the phrase "Pop Deco", to describe the music of their second album "You are the song" (released July 2012).
