One who uses their computer skills to comit molicious crimes against others. Some are skilled computer programmers and specialists. Others are young children, teens, or inexperianced individuals that do these acts for fun or for the rush of acting as a professianal for the first time. Because of the media, the public often thinks of hackers as criminals even though this is not true. Hackers just have a passion for computers and specializing in them.

A racially and culturally insensitive word derived from 15th and 16th English views of Irish and Scottish peasants with Celtic accents and customs. English nobility nicknamed these people "Crackers" because whenever they spoke, it makes the English laugh at them. Hence, the phrase, "to crack a joke" or a "cracker" was intended for Irish and Scottish peasants who sounded funny when spoke, were being interrogated or tortured.
English Lord #1: I'm bored and need a good laugh, but I'm sick of calling the jester.
English Lord #2: I know, let's arrest some Crackers and interrogate them while we drink some ale!
English Lord #1: Brilliant! They are exceptionally entertaining under lashing!
English Lord #2: Especially when forcing them to beg for mercy!
English Lord #1: Last time, even the inquisitor could not stop laughing!

The use of the word "cracker" to refer to a group of people has it's earliest days in the hacker culture. Crackers originally referred to a group of people(mostly adolescent males) that called themselves hackers, but were really only good for phreaking and messing up computers. Essentially, people who were better at creating problems than fixing them. The members of hacker culture do this to distinguish themselves from their less skillful counterpart. In today's pop culture, cracker has become a racial slur for people of Caucasian descent.
That dude totally messed up his computer. What a cracker.
She's such a cracker with her Starbucks and her iPhone 5.
