Taken from the 1978 smash hit by Squeeze titled "Cool For Cats", the term is used to either speak of ones well being or of an object or event.

The home for the people who don't fit in.

Most commonly seen wearing combat boots and bandanas (but not always), these people are some of the most artistic, creative people you will ever meet. Sometimes they're a bit crazy.

They each have nicknames for each other. In the original Cool Cats, the creator (Cat)'s nickname was "Mama", as in being the mother of the Cool Cats. Her boyfriends name was Taint because she swears she's going to marry Tait Langdon ("Taint") from American Horror Story (the character, not to be confused with Evan Petters). Her friend who dresses more provacativly is called "Slutty" but not in a harmful way.

These people aren't afraid to stand up for their true friends.

A few rules on being a "Cool Cat" (the only rules, really) is that you must love combat boots and the post-punk rock/alternative band, My Chemical Romance.

These people have no desire to be popular and they usually hang out whenever they can.

**NOTE- Cool Cats have their own unique personalities, but most of them are on the darker side. There have been a few known happy, upbeat more preppy Cool Cats, but they are not entirely one label.

Preps usually dislike the Cool Cats.

Cool Cats are known to be a bit weird.
