A school that makes you wear uniforms , go to church, and take religion class. 50% white, 47.5% filipino, 2.5% latino.

the place where catholic kids go to school because their parents make them. they wear uniforms, and dont care what they look like. they are cheating experts, and don't act catholic at all. they dont care what the public school kids think because theyre having plenty of fun. once you go to a catholic school, your a catholic school kid forever.

The system can be highly political and out of touch with the spiritual needs of its stakeholders. Actions speak louder than words. Pay attention IF and HOW the community is making a difference in children's faith journey, care for social justice, and building a better world, etc. If the school claims "excellent education," what is their definition of excellence? What benchmarks are they using?

PROS: People are generally nice. Spring break, summer break, winter break, students are fun, work is not stressful.
CONS: Low professional development/leadership pipeline opportunities for teachers and staff, very low pay, can be political. Low-tech. Religion/faith formation ironically can feel like an afterthought, a mandatory checkmark.

SUGGESTIONS: School communities vary. Read online reviews, visit schools, and do your research. Some schools are genuinely worth the investment. Others not so much. Independent Catholic elementary schools and Catholic high schools tend to have more resources. They share the same Catholic identity as its diocesan/archdiocesan schools but operate under separate governing structures: more innovation, less bureaucracy.

a place where kids don’t act catholic at all because there parents made them go there. only goes to church when the school requires you to, were the ugliest uniforms, can’t have died hair nail polish etc., no leggings on dress down days, wears their skirts shorter than short. they just don’t act catholic at all. have to find a way to sneak their phone into class. they are the cheating masters! people go to school high as heaven. distracts the teachers to get off of topic so you don’t have to keep learning (especially religion class). public school kids are put to shame next to a catholic school kid. once a catholic school kid always a catholic school kid.
