A economic system which is usually short lived before becoming corporatism. In this system, everyone is said to have an equal chance to become rich, depending on how hard they work. While this is true of capitalism, usually by the time a capitalists become rich, corporatism is born. A system where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. While Capitalism is a good idea, in theory, it is not in practice. Just like communism. Neither work. Usually, the only way for a semi-capitlist state to exist for any length of time is through democratic socialism.

An economic system based on two basic truisms:
1. Humans are greedy
2. Humans act in their own self interest FIRST
Capitalism exploits these two truisms by creating an economic structure in which benefiting yourself benefits the society as a whole. For example, when Jeff Bezos created Amazon, he benefited himself by giving himself complete financial freedom; and he benefited the society as a whole by providing fast, reliable shipping and delivery.

An often maligned system that was endorsed by Philosophes of the Enlightenment and again by the Social Gospel of the Industrialist Period during the late 19th century. A system that rewards those who work hard and use their talents to the fullest extent, now has been confused and distorted into a systematic operation of oppression and greed, called "corporatism". Can actually be mixed with socialism to create a utopian society if managed properly, a system we almost achieved under Clinton but was trashed by Dubya.

A dirty business

you find a better system. I'm not being sarcastic. All systems have problems with them. And believe me, I hate annoying rich ass 10 year olds who cry all day cus they're Ipod's got a scratch and rich hungry business men who live on wallstreet and would send their family up the river for a nickel.

Capitalism is a system of economics where you invest 'capital' into ventures and get money (more than your investment) if it succeeds. It is a system that rewards people with ideas. People who spew the whole: rich get richer, poor get poorer are slightly off. If you have an idea, you can get rich. In other systems, like communism or socialism, you have no way to improve your lot in life, but with capitalism, you at least have a chance

A form of government based on the idea that people who want to excel will excel, and those who do not wish to will not. It can easily be combined with democracy, though balance is needed for it to succeed, and oftentimes it can be corrupted. Though this has brought prosperity to the world not yet seen, it faces criticism from those who beleive in socialism, another effective form of government.
