(acronym)-- Chuckle Out Loud. On the account that no one ever actually L.O.L.s, the original acronym has now been modified to be more truthful. When a funny email or text message is read, if one is to even make a noise at all, it will most likely be a chuckle rather than a laugh. Thus the proper response is C.O.L. rather than L.O.L.
