In acordence of paint when dry, you look at it in one direction it's blue and in the other it's purple. hence the name Blurple!

A combination/contraction of the words ‘blue’ and ‘purple’ used to mean a color scheme that is comprised of both blue and purple tones together. Not offensive in any way.
