A canine vocalisation made through pursed lips, used to express excitement, impatience, fear, of a combination of all three. Not unlike a howl, it can be a long and singular awoo (a significant awoo), or a succession of short, sharp awoo’s (woo-woo’s).
Example 1
Dog: “Awooooooo”
Me: “Wow, that was a very significant awoo!”
Example 2
Me: “Do you want to play?”
Dog: “Awoowowowoo”
Me: “Heck”
