A person afflicted with asperger's syndrome who believes themselves to be superior to any non-aspie, despite having no basis for their belief. Aspertards are usually losers who have achieved minimal (if any) success, and choose instead to live vicariously through the achievements of long-dead scientists who may or may not have had ASD. Aspertards typically have a borderline-normal IQ (85-105), but will spend extensive time and effort trying to prove their supposed "intelligence" to internet strangers.

They’re incredibly hypocritical. Constantly demanding acceptance and understanding, while exhibiting condescending behaviors. Aspertards claim to promote neurodivergence, but look down upon low functioning autistics, viewing them as a “disgrace” to ASD. Aspertards believe that their asperger's diagnosis renders them immune to all criticisms regarding any negative trait.

Aspertards love to complain about how their diagnosis ruins their life while simultaneously discussing why it is a "gift" that makes them superior to neurotypicals. When further prompted to explain the evidence for their giftedness, they will usually make a comparison to an exaggerated fictional character with autistic traits. They also will not hesitate to use their aspergers as an excuse for their bad behavior when caught.

Aspertards have significant overlap with other widely disliked groups. SJWs, neckbeards, edgelords, tumblrinas, special snowflakes, bronies and furries are among a few.
