Apna – which in Punjab loosely translates to 'One of our own'. It can be used to describe someone who is part of the same ethnic group, or more commonly, a very close friend; aka "my guy". More commonly used in Birmingham by asians to describe other asians.

Apna is the Pakistani/Indian word for "Mine", "My guy" or defining that he/she is from the cast, nationality or faith.
