Okay, drumroll please...... Anime is simply fun. F, U, N, FUN. It's entertainment, just like hockey (yes I watch hockey), football, or Looney Toons. I for one laugh my ass off at Daffy Duck, but enjoy Speed Racer, I root for the Blackhawks and still like watching Shaman King. Im a huge fan of most anime because you can learn a lot from the characters, as they are usually extreme versions of a feeling or emotion. Take Goku from DBZ. He protects the earth to keep his friends safe, sounds like extreme loyalty, no? We can all learn the lessons that are tought through anime, but still smoke pot and play football. Kuhmbaya bitches.

Most people say anime is a cartoon, although it's not. Anime is a Japenese show, which of course, is animated. Usually it's in Japenese unless it's English-dubbed. There are all types of animes: horror, romantic, funny, action, etc. The anime characters may look cartoonish but that doesn't make anime cartoons. Anybody of any age can watch anime.

American companies usually butcher the dubbed version so they can make the ones that weren't intended for kids all TV-Y rated. Most anime takes on more mature themes and sometimes sexual content for those people who are into that.

Stereotypical anime characters, usually the younger female ones, have large eyes (to portray innocence, I guess). But not all of them do. Sometimes they have crazy hair and crazy outfits and crazy actions. The voices are high because I guess Japanese people tend to have higher voices than Americans.

The people who watch anime aren't always those stereotypical geek/nerd/dork or whatever you wanna call them. Sometimes the people who do watch anime or read manga (Jap. comics) can get a little too into the culture, but hey, whatever.
