pulling a José Vasquez

Slang Term used to describe a situation where someone accidentally eliminates a person that's important for a plan to work out.

Term is taken from the character of the same name in the movie "Dog eat Dog" that should give them their money but gets shot by accident because the 3 main characters confused him with the husband of the woman they should actually kidnap.
Person 1: " ok we're done when will we get the money."

Person 2: " you idiots shot the guy that should deliver the money!"

Person 1: " What? But wasn't he the husband of the woman whose baby we were supposed to kidnap?"

Person 2: "Nope.

Pulling a Jon Kyl

In 2011 Jon Kyl, Republican Senator from Arizona, claimed that abortions were "well over 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood does." After his statement caught wind in the media as being a flat out lie he backpedaled stating that his remark was "not intended to be a factual statement."

This spawned the hashtag and popular meme #NotIntendedToBeAFactualStatement. In similar context, whenever you or someone you know present information as a fact when it's actually a blatant lie it is appropriate to say Pulling a Jon Kyl. In reference to this notorious liar.
