Helsinki Syndrome

A condition that affects programmers at different rates, where they become functionally blind to the defects in legacy code they are required to work in regularly. The only known treatment is for the affected programmer to be required to explain the code to a new programmer. The embarrassment at not already having fixed the code causes a short period of clear thinking. However within a short time both programmers will suffer from the effects and it'll remain unchanged.

Sorry, I didn't realize how bad my Helsinki Syndrome was. Yes...Yes all the config is hard coded.

proletariat syndrome

A medical syndrome, affecting most often the proletarian class, in which people come home from work after a 9-5 shift, fall asleep until about 8:30-9:00 pm then do some chores, only to be back to bed by 10:30-11 pm and get up early the following morning.

Proletariat syndrome should not be confused with ptsd or seasonal mood disorder.

Typettes Syndrome

A syndrome very simmilar to Tourette Syndrome. A person afflicted with Typettes will often blurt out random profanities or onomatopoeia while typing in a IM program, chat room, or sending a text message.

1. (Typing) John:"Me and Billy walked down to the DAMN IT MOTHER FUCK store today."
Linda:"I think you may have Typettes Syndrome ..."

2. (Typing)Lora:"I think your a really cool guy Jim. I would like to CORRODED SCROTUM hang out some time for real..."
Jim:"Well... I'd love to hang out, but you have Typettes Syndrome ... sorry"

Balderas Syndrome

When a Mexican goes Crazy after realizing that his country is Doomed

Lady : Did you hear about the shooting at the Balderas Station?

Lady 2: Yes , that guy went crazy and ended up killing an elderly man.

Lady: why do you think he did it?

Lady 2: The time he spent in the U.S changed him, and now that he's back, he has realized that the situation here in Mexico is really bad.

Lady: that happens to a lot of people, they should come up with a name for that.

Lady 2: they came up with a name..they are calling it the Balderas Syndrome.
