Being bisexual means being attracted to two or more genders, but a bisexual person CAN have a preference over gender.
A common misconception is that bisexual
people are transphobic and exclude transgender
people or non-binary
people out of their sexuality, but this is actually not true at all! Transgender is not a third gender, neither is non-binary. Trans men are men & trans women are women so bisexual
people are attracted to trans
people too!
Bisexual also includes non-binary
people.
Being pansexual is actually very similar to being bisexual but they are NOT the same thing!
Being pansexual means that you are attracted to two or more genders, with NO preference over gender.
A common misconception is that pansexuality is bi-phobic or transphobic, when in reality it is neither of those things. Some
people think that pansexual people believe that being transgender is a third gender, or that pansexual people only exist because they think that being bisexual inherently discriminates against transgender people and non-binary people. But this is not true! Both sexualities include trans AND non-binary people.
The only difference between being pansexual and being bisexual is that bisexual people can have a preference over gender, (example: sexuality
ratio is 70% women, 10% men, 20% non-binary or anywhere in between) and pansexual people have zero preference over gender, and have no sexuality
ratio!
