Guesstimate how many mature students worldwide are reluctant to sign up for short math or statistics courses to upgrade themselves, because they are masked by pi.

Pi ICO

Short for “Pi Initial Coin Offering.” A startup by mathepreneurs, who aim to raise at least $3.14 million in exchange for pi tokens or PiCoins to help eradicate innumeracy in the developing world—their mission is to sponsor math educators-volunteers to help raise the quantitative literacy of millions of people in poorer countries.

Unlike a Pi IPO, which normally involves lots of checks or red tape, raising funds via a Pi ICO bypasses all of this—a relatively easier and cheaper way of raising money to improve the mathematical proficiency of poor communities worldwide faster.

When mathematics can not only help someone to be logical and rational, but it can also help them to be humble, gracious, resilient, joyful, and happy—they can experience the hidden happiness of mathematics and the good life.

If mathematics is the key to understanding the workings of the universe, schools and teachers play a key role in ensuring that students are exposed to the pi of life—when they can experience joy and happiness through math.

Pi in the Sky

When the value of the mathematical pi is exactly three, which can be inferred from two verses in the Bible (1 Kings 7:23 and 2 Chronicles 4:2)—the “biblical pi” contradicts the mathematicians’ value, which is about 3.14 or 22/7.

How does one reconcile the value of pi in the sky with the irrational value of pi on earth? Could theologians or theomaticians explain the missing “0.14” bit to the mathematical brethren?
