Usually difficult of access because only serviced by loose metal roads (gravel roads) that are narrow and dusty. Rough country farms with few and large paddocks inhabited by few people.
Not to be confused with back-block, which is the last paddock on the farm to have been broken into farmland.

After routing changes in 2005 it simply became called 'The North Course' or 'The Six' and currently comprises the starting 6 holes. Often referred to provincially as the toughest 6 holes in golf it is noted to have decided the outcome of several provincial majors. It's fame and notoriety has spawned many local sayings, t-shirts and even a restaurant leaning on the fame of 'The Back 6' for its name.
