Get the Sage moment mug.Anastasia moment – is the ultimate Murphy’s law moment (“Everything that can and cannot go wrong, will go wrong”). It is when a person (not necessarily someone who goes by the Greek name Anastasia), had good intentions, but somehow lost control of things, causing them to backfire and go so wrong that one would think that “that’s it, there’s no way out”. However, because the name Anastasia means “resurrection”, the things magically work out, leaving the person at the butt end of the joke seemingly unscathed (only slightly humiliated) .
- I just had the ultimate Anastasia moment!
- What's that like?
- I can't use my arms to carry stuff, because I am on crutches. But I wanted to eat cereals for dinner and watch How I met your mother at the same time, but my family had abandoned me. So I go downstairs to the kitchen and I come up with a brilliant idea, I put cereals and milk into a tupperware, I close it, and but it on my head. I am balancing my way to the TV, I go up five steps, and boom, it's all on the floor. It looked like I had puked everywhere, so I quit and just sort of sat there... My mom didn't even yell. That's how pathetic I am.

Get the Anastasia moment mug.Among other uses of the phrase, "I'm having a moment" can be used when one is experiencing an overwhelming revelation or is reeling from great surprise or shock and therefore cannot respond to further questions or information before processing the emotion/information and/or briefly recontextualising/reevaluating other beliefs.
Speaker A: "Hey did you know that glass doesn't actually flow like a liquid people just installed the uneven glass thick-side-down. Anyway what do you want me to order for lunch?" (Speaker A presents Speaker B in passing with information that contradicts a long-held belief of Speaker B)
Speaker B: "Sorry, I'm just having a moment right now" (Speaker B requests Speaker A to allow them time to process the novel information before commiserating about the next topic of lunch)
