Lunch Water

This term is usually used as a euphemism for said beverage in situations where alcohol consumption may be frowned upon or prohibited, such as in the middle of the workday at a stuffy office, operating heavy machinery, or during military or other public duties. A lunch water is typically a lighter variety of beer, such as a lager, gose, or session IPA that has a lighter flavor profile and alcohol content to avoid detection by supervisors or narcs. Common consumption locations for lunch waters include the back offices of mechanics shops, cubicle desks, military barracks, and Chili’s.
