An abbreviation of the term “super fan”: A fan of a person or thing that appreciates them/it more than a casual fan

Commonly misinterpreted as the older definition (an abbreviation for “stalker fan”), but the meaning has changed since.

Person 1: Have you heard that Mia is a k-pop stan?
Person two: Yes, I have! We’ve talked about our favorite bands yesterday! She is so cool!

Someone who is an obsessive / crazy fan of the Minecraft YouTuber Dream. These stans will often have things like "Dweam x gogy" in their Twitter bio, because of course they use Twitter. They write and draw very sexual fanfiction and fanart about Dream. There is also about a 40% chance that they identify as "Dreamsexual". These people should be purged at all costs.
