Phone Jedi

Verb (usually inding in ING)
To use passive aggressive tactics while someone dumb is on the other end of the phone in the hopes that they will eventually hang up. Tactics include silence, sighing, not responding, saying you don't know what they are talking about, etcetera.

I picked up my co-workers phone to find that my boss was calling her about something. He said something dumb and I didn't want to hear it, so I phone jedi-ed him until he hung up.

phone sitting

The act of waiting on a very important phone call. "IN THE OLDEN DAYS" (i.e., roughly two decades ago) this act would necessitate that a person remain home, near the phone, engaged in quiet activities. While phone sitting, you would have to quickly disengage yourself from all calls other than the expected one. Even walking down to the driveway may result in missing that oh-so-very-important call, such as from a perspective employer. This annoyance has become much less common in the past twenty years thanks to caller ID, call waiting, voice mail, and cell phones.

1) "I cannot go out tonight, I put a classified ad in the newspaper and now I am phone sitting."
or,

2) "He said he would call me back about the new job. I cannot turn my cell phone off because I am phone sitting."

Phone Queer

The act of talking on the phone with a female while hanging out with the guys. Usually happens on a guy night out. And its not just one call to check in. Its countless disappearing outside to make phone calls. Usually ends with said Phone Queer guy getting his feelings hurt since he is spending time with his phone and not drinking. Usually the most sober of the bunch. Basically a pussy.

The guy who is always on the phone with his girl while hanging out with his buddies. Yeah, he's the guy who is outside talking all quiet and sweet to his woman. Like he's making love to it. Fucking phone queer!
