Ok, emo guys gay thing #1. To pansy enough to make it into the skater/metal/goth scene, so do the manly thing, and cut their jeans to make them look like girl pants. Gay thing #2, cover half their acne rippled face with greasy, unwashed hair because it's the less conformist thing to do. Gay thing #3, cutting yourself. Look, every suicide attempt I hear about is some idiot, who cuts themselves along the wrists instead of down the inside of the forearm. You just do it for attention cause you know that behind the mascara, tight pants, checkered shoes, middle class life, you pretend that life sucks and you have it so bad. Grow up, just because your mom and dad are still together, you have a new car, and your parents give you money to spend on razors, your life isn't that bad. Look at some of the hoods and ghettos some people live in. Do you see any of them with long hair or tight pants. No. Do you want to know why? Because they actually have to fight to survive and there's more important things to do than cut yourself, like feed your family and figure out where your going to get money to shelter your loved ones.

EMO - cutting myself relieves the pain of life.
NORMAL PERSON - oh really, last time I checked when I cut myself it hurt.

EMO - Mom's minivan is less conformist than the school bus.
NORMAL PERSON - I ride the bus cause I'm not afraid to stick up for myself if anyone picks on me.

emo is a genre of music branched off of punk. commonly mistacken for how someone acts or dresses. just because someone weres all black and has a werid hair style and is depressed. doesnt mean they are emo. depretion is seriouse with us teens. parents split up alot more theses days. i know this.

emo

These days, I'm not even sure what the hell emo is. Apparently it used to be a subgenre of hardcore punk, later became emocore (emotional hardcore), and somewhere within the last twenty or so years of its existence it changed into some damn stereotype or fashion style. Nowadays, its just whovever wears skinny jeans, old school or skater shoes, black rimmed glasses, tshirts of bands, and the jet black straight emo haircut. Have any or one or two of the following and some fool will come up to you and ask, "Are you emo?". Seriously..it's getting really ridiculous. You don't even need to cut yourself, just dress up like one and call yourself one. There, I just stereotyped emo and cutting (which I am clueless as to when did cutters become emo? aren't cutters just potentially suicidal people who just need help?)
Emo people are shy, sensitive, and emotional people. That's not how I see it at my school..maybe because all this stereotype stuff is brainwashing me. Or my highschool is messed up with all the "emo wannabees" lined up. Probably both, but I'm forever confused on the real meaning of emo. Give it another decade or two. Let's just wait and see how this emo will keep changing.

2) (today) some poser: got the haircut and I fit in the jeans..woot! cool now I just have to act..depressed..emotional..and maybe even cut myself to stand out!

Emo is known as different things for different people. Most people see it as people cutting themselves. Most definitions have been complaining about "emo people complaining". When a person cuts themselves, they don't advertise it to the world. they hide it. People who advertise it are not in pain, just seeking attention. People often mock people who do cut, because they don't understand. You will never understand until you feel it for yourself. Burning yourself is another common self inflicted pain.
People should really stop labeling each other and mocking what they don't understand.

Seamus was overwhelmed in emotional pain so he pressed a blade to his forearm.
This pain felt so right to him.
He wore a long sleeved shirt to school the next day.

Emo

Used to refer to the breed of teen who listened to(and "related to") soft punk music, dyed their hair black, made a habit of inflicting pain to themself (such as the sliting of the wrists), wear black stovepipes that are too small, dress entirly in black, and act overly moody/unloved;
Now its been so overused that anyone who has the slightest fringe, listens to any type of rock music often, or wears any one piece of black clothing is stamped with title emo.
You don't realy even need to be over emotional as the name suggests or listen to the music (which in most peoples opinion are the two main emo propeties) anymore to earn the title.

1.) "You're an emo cos if those jeans were black they'd be emo jeans."

2.) Jim: "Have you heard the new blink 182 song?"
Bob: "Omg, i didnt know you turned emo."

3.) "You're such an emo, why did you get a fringe?"

Another word for the lowest, piece of trash, worthless scumbag losers in the world. can also be used to describe children that are well-off with fine lives but think they have it so hard.

if you see an emo kid you should not call the authorities, but attempt to take him/her out by yourself. they are harmless and will only fight back by crying or cutting them selves.
