Hard of thinking

Like Hard of hearing except that it affects the brain rather than the ears.
"Why is there a set of keys in the fridge?"
"Oh, they're Tim's. He's a little hard of thinking."

Critical Thinking

To be able to think outside of the box. To understand both sides of the arguement fully iregardless of which side your arguing from, to give you a full perspective of the whole dispute hence enabling inteligent thinking. To be able to think for your self without the influence of anything. To be able to make decisions and form your own opinions without any influence form anything else. Thinking for your self and realising when you are wrong and when you are right.

Having a clear understanding of the main attributes for critical thinking as stated above are the main attributes for critical thinking.
Person 1: How do you know your religion is true and that there is a God?

Person 2 (a critical thinking reply): I believe because i was brought up to believe what i believe and i have respect for what i beleive in and my religion, on the other hand i understand where your coming from and i value ur opinion and question, what are your ideas and philosies of a greater being ?

Person 1: How can u belive in God when u cant see him or anything ?

Person 2: it is what i choose to believe in just like you choose not believe but i value and respect your opinion on the subject .

as you can see person 2 was open to criticism about believing in God and he replied understanding the other persons arguement and had respect for it. To be able to think critically you have to respect your fellow human beings opinions and thought process in order to understand him/her properly.

thinking out loud

Thinking out loud is the act of expressing in recoverable and external form new thoughts which you encourage your mind into exploring. Often these lead to new avenues of thought. When you think out loud you detect and explore ideas and concepts which are either unknown, or as yet unexplored.
Excuse me. I didn't really mean to say that. I was just thinking out loud. Mr. Johnson didn't prepare a speech. He just stood there and thought out loud. It was a terrible presentation.

Good Thinking Batman

Phrase used to show agreement when someone has a good idea, implying the person has a good idea and if needed can fight crime.
Frank:...so we get wasted and enter the party fashionably late and totally wasted then leave before 6am, so we don't have to clean anything up.
Adam: Good thinking Batman

Binary Thinking

Phrase. Denotes a system of thought that predominantly considers things in an "either, or", "right, wrong", "black, white" way, ignoring any subtleties or consideration of third or more alternatives.

In philosophy, this is know as a "bifurcation fallacy".

People who habitually think in this way are usually fairly unintelligent and unimaginative.
G.W. Bush: "You're either with us, or your with the terrorists".
Me: "Wow, Bush can only seem to understand the world through binary thinking..."

An act that is simply cool, anybody who genuinely thanks the bus driver is cooler than anybody you could possibly meet. These people are on higher standards of coolness and are highly praised online.
