Scottish slang term for a person who has the appearance of a criminal or troublemaker. Typically someone who looks like a ned or chav, although the term generally refers to the stereotypical facial features of an offender e.g. sloping forehead, eyes close together, pale yellow skin etc.
The term originates from HMP Barlinnie, Scotland's largest prison.
