Regardless of excuses made and replacement definitions suggested - you are required to carry clubs and act as if you are a professional. In addition, you should have fun and offer drinks & advice and be a general facilitator of a good time.

After several drinks Justin entered into a friendly bet over a game of golf. He of course lost and tried to back out. However, since gentleman’s rules prevail, he was required to be an Exclusive Caddy to pay up the bet. He had thought Brian’s short game would be the difference in the match, but he forgot they both hit the ball 179 yards of the tee and that he is unable to get out a sand trap.
