Lacuna Coil 

Lacuna Coil is an Italian Goth rock band formed by Cristina Scabbia (vocals), Marco Coti Zelati (bass), Andrea Ferro (vocals), Cristiano Migliore (guitars), Marco Emanuele Biazzi (guitars), and Cristiano Mozzati (drums).

Evanescence are likened to Lacuna Coil and some people beleive that Evanescence copied Lacuna Coil's sound but both band were formed in 1994 released their first EP's in 1998 and do not sound all that similar.

The band formed as Sleep of Right in 1994. By 1996 the band had changed their name to Ethereal and were signed by Century Media. Finding that the name "Ethereal" was taken, they settled instead on Lacuna Coil ("empty spiral" in Italian).

It's weird enough to say "I love Tesla Coils" really fast when you are a girl, but it is weirder when you hear a boy say that.

An italian metal band. Recently a person I know called them a poser band. Bullshit! So yeah..they may not be totally underground, but at least they stay true to themselves, and thats all that matters. You narrow minded undergrounds, just stop being narrow minded and give these bands a break

If you are into goth/doom metal, then you will like lacuna coil.

lacuna coil 

An amazing gothic metal group from italy, but most lyrics are in english. Fronted by Cristina Scabbia, whos got an amazing voice. They're performing at Ozzfest and may be opening for P.O.D.
There guitaring is decent, but on there last CD *Comalies* they overdid it on the keyboarding. There song Heavens A Lie has been played occasionaly on MTV2 but I've only seen it once. They definitly have the potential to make it in north america
