The term origins from and is primarily used in Denmark, where it was first used in a Danish television show called "UPS! Det er live" with a sketch involving two tracksuit wearing, bicycle riding men doing things such as ringing at people's doors, to then run away, park bikes where they were not allowed to and so on. The name of the sketch was called "Crime Riders". The term is mostly used ironically about a person.
