Prediction

A Prediction is something you brainstorm before they find out themselves.
Max made a prediction about a snail.

Prediction

Mine was actually correct though.
Hym "My prediction was that they were going to use mail-in ballots to cheat and pull off 'The most extensive and inclusive voter faurd operation in the history of the presidency' (that's a Joe Biden quote) and I WAS CORRECT! I told the 'Don't shut down the country or you're going to lose.' And then his DID shut down the country. And he DID lose. People should know better than to ignore me but, hey, I guess always being correct and literally creating A.I. isn't good enough for everybody. I think it's not being able to delude yourselves into believing you're 'good' in any way shape or form. That's got to be it. I don't know. But it's crazy! I'm like a seer! Greatest mind who's ever lived!"

Prediction Market

A marketplace where people trade shares in the outcome of future events — basically, a stock market for opinions. Prices move based on what traders believe will happen, from “Will it rain tomorrow?” to “Will Minnesota finally win a championship?”

It’s where degens, data nerds, and wannabe Nostradamuses collide — except now, it’s not just politics and crypto. Platforms like Kalshi, BettorEdge, and Polymarket are bringing prediction markets to sports, letting fans actually buy and sell belief instead of betting against the house.
“Bro, I just made $50 predicting the Patriots wouldn’t blow a fourth-quarter lead on prediction markets.

Guess I’m officially a market analyst now.”

seidel prediction

A meta prediction about the progression of a story. At any point in a story, a seidel prediction can be created by making several predictions, how the story will progress, with the goal of one of them being close to the actual progression of the story. The goal of a seidel prediction is to be able to declare that one already knew how the story will go on, that it was predictable and basically boring.
A: See? I knew It! Exactly as i said it would end. The sotry was so predictable.
B: Dude, the 9 other endings you predicted did happen, what about that? That totally was a seidel prediction.

diere prediction

Refers to any horrendous-possible-future-event statement like, "You will almost certainly drop dead if you don't buy/do this" that is made by someone who often is just selfishly trying to manipulate you into bowing to their wishes/ideas. Under ordinary circumstances, about the only type of thing that would be of valid concern would be something like smoking or taking certain medications.
During my visit to the ER with acute pleurisy during the late fall of '02, the doctor --- probably in a selfish effort to further milk MaineCare --- attempted to scare me into having my appendix removed by informing me that I would "very likely" not survive unless I had that operation. I knew that it was just an inflamed pleural sac, though, so in spite of the doctor's diere prediction, I said no thank you, and took a cab home. My sister gave me some calcium pills and I rested in bed for most of the morning and afternoon, and then the following day I was actually recovered enough to "bundle up like a mummy" and walk a mile through the bitter cold to visit some friends. That was well over fifteen years ago, and I'm still alive and kickin'!
